Have you heard of an instructional designer or learning designer or content creator? Although there are many different approaches within these roles, a Learner Experience Designer takes you on a journey away from content and focuses on the learner and the experiences within.
As an LX Designer, I work with educators to create a narrative for their content and design a learner experience that provides opportunities for learners to connect, create and collaborate. From the activities educators ask learners to do; to the formative and summative feedback opportunities, I am the critical friend that questions why you are building your course in a particular way. In doing so, I am also a change facilitator, to help educators rethink practices that have sometimes been embedded for decades.
I also know the value of technology and the impact it can have when integrated with a purpose to support and enhance the learner experience. As a result, I look at what the learners need to do and what needs to be achieved, to provide recommendations on what technology is most suited for particular contexts. I have a less is more philosophy when it comes to using technology, so I look for solutions that have as much functionality embedded within.
If you want to leverage my experience and have an evidence-informed approach in your next course, why not create an online course today.
